The temperature may have...

... read 30 degrees but on Saturday the wind made it feel so much colder!  Jessica & Pat have been waiting for a snowy day to do their e-session.  We received a pile of snow after Christmas and a few weeks later it disappeared.  Then, much to our delight, the snow was back and we were ready!

We headed out into the country where these two live and grew up.  Pat's family owns a 100 acres of land and it was so beautiful there.  Growing up in the country gives you such an appreciation for those hidden treasures you can find when wandering into the woods and through the fields.

Not too mention that this morning the light was perfect! And how beautiful is that ring?!

I love this one! They were always smiling and you can see how truly happy they are together.

And before you know it August will be here and I'll be celebrating with Pat and Jessica on their big day.  I can't wait to document it and thanks for a wonderful, wintery Saturday morning <3

I've been waiting...

...and waiting for this day! When I first found out about this camera I knew it was something that I needed to own.  I have been saving all this time, knowing in the back of my head that owning this bad boy could potentially take my business to the next level.  Ladies and gentlemen, the Canon 5d Mark iii is now mine!!

The box...I already had the camera out though :-)

I ordered it last Saturday and it came in the mail Wednesday night, which just so happened to be the night we were in the ER.  George joked that my camera was probably sitting out in the cold and when we got home it was!  (I told him he was lucky I didn't go home to get it first to take photos of him there as blackmail!)  I didn't have much time to try it out that night but had to open it!  I finally had a chance to use it this weekend on an e-session and take some photos for a friend.  It. is. AMAZING!

Yessssssss!!!

It has been two years since I bought a new camera and the timing was perfect.  I have a little vacation coming up so I can practice and not long after a wedding I can't wait for!  I love the fact that I will now have the Mark iii  as my primary and the 7d as my backup.  It's reassuring to know that if anything were to happen to the 5d (got forbid), that I would have my 7d to turn to.

The beast <3

All of this goes without saying that I could have NEVER bought this camera without all of you believing in me and what I do.  To all of you who have booked me and encouraged me, thank you from the bottom of my heart.  I am so grateful  to be able to do something that I love and build this business.  Also, a huge thanks to those closest to me for always putting up with the photography talk.  I know you may not understand it all but just listening means more than you know.

I hope your Monday hasn't been too bad.  I ate some ice cream to make mine better. :-) And with that be on the look out for this weekend's e-session and a few photos of my super talented bro-in-law!

I like to find...

...things that make my life easier.  And since I'm now blogging regularly, I thought it might be helpful to share one of those things!  I love reading blogs.  Most of the blogs I read belong to other photographers but I also follow some fashion and food blogs as well.

I read about 25-30 blogs on a regular basis and if I had to go to each individual blog it would get pretty cumbersome.  I was lucky enough to fall across a site called Bloglovin.  This site allows you to sign up and follow all the blogs you love at one easy location!

I simply love the fact that I can sign on and anytime someone has written a new blog it notifies me.  I now have the ability to read their blog without having to constantly check their site.  Here's another preview of what it looks like...

It also allows you to make the posts unread even if you'd already read them so you can go back if need be.  I find this really helpful when they've posted videos with tutorials and want to watch it later on when I have more time.

The only info you need to follow the blog is the URL.  You just put it into the search box, starting following them and it's saved!  You can also look through the popular blogs they have there to find new blogs that may interest you!  If you enjoy blogs like I do give it a shot and let me know what you think!  You can also follow me there to see all the sessions I'm doing and updates!

In other news I spent last night finally editing photos from our vacation in November and will be sharing soon.  Tonight I spent time with one of my 2013 brides and had a great time!  I am also looking forward to sharing some REALLY exciting news within the next few days so be on the look out. :-)

So I have this friend...

...Kristin, who I work with. She is the sweetest.  And she just so happens to have this awesome fiance Jake.  These two are adorable and I had the pleasure of taking some engagement photos over Christmas break for them.  This was the last session of the year and it was definitely cold but you'd never know by how awesome they look!

We had the session at their house which is beautiful! I kinda have a thing for old houses.  And I love their smiles in this one!

I loved all the snow we had!  It made everything look perfect!

And this was my favorite... you guys rocked this one!

June will be here before we know it and I'll be spending the day helping them celebrate!  Thank you both so much for allowing me not only to be your photographer but your friend. <3

First Session of 2013: Andrew & Justine

First off Happy 2013!! I realize I'm a little late but I'm back to blogging and so excited about it!  I realized last year that I just couldn't work it into my schedule but this year I'm going to try and blog every session that I do, so get ready!  I'm also going to be going back and revisiting many of the wonderful people I took photos of in 2012.

So without further ado here are Andrew & Justine!

It didn't take me but 2 minutes to see how in love these two are and you'll see what I mean!  It was a mere 30 degrees outside but you'd never know from their photos! They were always smiling, laughing and ready for the next part.  Not to mention they had awesome ideas, I mean common they are having a vintage book themed wedding....YESSSS!

Told ya they're in love!

And what's an E-session without a family photo?!  Timber was so well behaved and is such a beautiful rescue dog.  She's lucky to have you both as parents!

And their favorite photo from the session....
I feel so honored that I get to be there for their big day! I had such an amazing time with you both and can't wait to see what you have in store for September!
